About Mobile Research Lab (MRL).

As a social enterprise of Theatre Emissary International (TEMi), MRL fulfills one of TEMi’s core mandates: research, training, mentoring and consulting. The Mobile Research Lab serves as a hub designed to create a safe space for learning opportunities, artistic exchange, mentoring, and training. MRL is a dynamic e-centre for exchanging ideas and training the next generation of researchers, artists, and scholars in the performing arts across Africa and beyond. The Mobile Research Lab aims to provide insights to the cultural and creative sector. At MRL, we believe in thinking globally while acting locally. Therefore, MRL focuses on synergizing efforts to advance scholarship and practice for a Pan-African knowledge base within the arts and humanities.

Further, through our services and activities, we serve as a think-tank for the system of the future for systemic change in academic and non-academic settings in creative industries, business and non-profit domains for multidisciplinary collaboration and sectoral impact.

Consulting services—MRL offers research and training services, particularly in the areas of cultural management, social innovation, policy, strategy, cultural and intelligence, and human resources.
